The German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) stipulates in its principle 308-009 that a qualified person must regularly inspect telescopic handlers used in a company for proper functioning, based on professional training. The corresponding requirements are more demanding than those for "normal" industrial trucks , because a telescopic handler can often be equipped not only with forks but also with loading shovels or load hooks, or serve as a mobile base for a mobile elevating work platform. Telescopic handlers also require particularly thorough inspection because they have a different design than conventional vehicles and, for example, often all four wheels can be steered. A load on the telescopic arm is often located outside the vehicle's contours. Furthermore, the stability of the telescopic handler necessitates regular checks for malfunctions.
Requirements:
In order to be able to carry out the necessary UVV inspection of a telescopic handler as a competent person, you need a completed technical vocational training or other technical qualification that enables you to inspect and assess the work equipment, as well as demonstrable practical experience with the work equipment (TRBS1203).

To enable you to perform inspections not only on telescopic handlers but also on other work equipment, the LTS Academy offers you the opportunity to specialize in up to three different areas (inspector qualifications) simultaneously.
