Earthmoving machinery is considered work equipment under the German Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health (BetrSichV). Therefore, according to Section 3 of the BetrSichV, the employer must conduct (or have conducted) a risk assessment for earthmoving machinery and, according to Section 10, have this assessment inspected by a qualified person (accident prevention inspector) at the determined intervals. According to Section 11, the inspection must be documented.

  • Erkennen von Mängeln / Ablegereife

  • Lagerung von Arbeitsmitteln

  • Durchführung von UVV-Prüfungen an Baumaschinen anhand praktischer Beispiele

Which work equipment must be inspected according to DGUV rule 100-500?

Earthmoving machinery as defined in DGUV Rule 100-500 includes, among others:

  • Excavator

  • Wheel loader

  • Leveling equipment

  • Mining equipment

  • Pipe layer

  • Specialized earthmoving machinery, e.g.: trenchers, backfilling augers

The UVV construction machinery module also includes:

Attachments to earthmoving machines, e.g.: excavator attachments to loaders, drilling equipment, pipe laying equipment, pile driving equipment, crushing equipment, compaction equipment, rippers.

The following equipment is not considered earthmoving machinery.

For the UVV inspection of these work equipment, a separate training course must be attended or an additional module booked.

 

Requirements:

Completed technical vocational training or other technical qualification that enables the participant to inspect and assess the work equipment, as well as demonstrable practical experience with the work equipment (TRBS1203).
