Become a qualified person for the UVV inspection of cranes
Cranes are, of course, considered work equipment within the meaning of the German Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health (BetrSichV). Therefore, according to Section 3 of the BetrSichV, the employer must commission a qualified person (UVV inspector) to inspect all cranes in use based on a risk assessment. This inspection, in turn, must be carefully documented in accordance with Section 11.
You can of course outsource the UVV inspection for cranes – or, after our training, have it carried out by an in-house qualified person for crane inspections, thereby saving time and money.
Why is a safety inspection (UVV) necessary for cranes?
Adherence to safety principles is an absolute prerequisite for the design, construction, and operation of cranes to prevent hazards that can arise, for example, from load falls, crane toppling over, or structural failure, endangering the life and health of people, property, and the environment. Such hazards affect not only those directly involved with the crane, such as crane operators and slingers, but also anyone working in or present within the crane's working area.
The dangers that may arise from the possible failure of components, the absence or failure of safety devices are effectively countered by inspections before initial commissioning and after significant modifications, as well as by recurring inspections (DGUV G 309-001).

As a participant in our UVV training courses, you will complete an e-learning module for each booked piece of equipment in advance of the course day. This module covers the basics of expertise and introduces you to the relevant regulations.
This can include, for example, the UVV inspection for cranes, training to become a qualified person for inspecting personal protective equipment against falls from height or for inspecting lifting platforms . This ensures you are optimally prepared for the training day and can effectively use your time on-site for intensive study of up to three pieces of equipment.

Requirements:
Completed technical vocational training or other technical qualification that enables the participant to inspect and assess the work equipment, as well as demonstrable practical experience with the work equipment (TRBS 1203). Accordingly, experience in operating the cranes to be inspected must be present (trained operator according to TRBS 1116 and DGUV G 309-003).

Additional inspections by a crane expert:
In addition to regular inspections by a qualified person, the following cranes must be inspected by an expert every four years in accordance with Section 26 Paragraph 3 of the accident prevention regulation “Cranes” (BGV/GUV-V D6):
