Inspection of small power-operated equipment by a qualified person – LTS Academy course
Those authorized to properly inspect power-driven small equipment are responsible for a remarkably wide range of tools and aids. These can include, for example, vibratory plate compactors, angle grinders, flexible hammers, jackhammers, chainsaws, lawnmowers, ride-on mowers, hedge trimmers, brush cutters, tillers, shredders, and other battery-powered and, in the broadest sense, "portable and mobile" small equipment. In defective condition and/or when used improperly, these tools pose a significant risk to the user and the surrounding area. Therefore, the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) regulation 100-500 mandates regular safety inspections of power-driven small equipment by a qualified person in all companies. You can acquire the necessary expertise through the corresponding training course at the LTS Academy, enabling you to properly comply with all regulations of the German Occupational Safety and Health Act (ArbSchG) and the German Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health (BetrSichV) within your own company.
Requirements:
The prerequisite for being able to carry out the UVV inspection for power-operated small equipment or to become a qualified person for this is a completed technical vocational training or other technical qualification that enables the respective work equipment to be inspected and assessed, as well as demonstrable practical experience with the work equipment (TRBS1203).
Please note: The so-called E-Check (test according to DGUV V 3) requires the module " Electrical Equipment " and vocational training in electrical engineering.

Every participant who wishes to inspect power-driven small equipment and various other work equipment as a qualified person takes part in an e-learning course prior to the LTS training day. This course provides them with the fundamentals of the relevant expertise and illustrates the most important regulations in advance. Thanks to this blended learning concept, we enable optimal preparation and allow all participants sufficient time on the in-person day for an effective and intensive examination of up to three work equipment items.
