Instructors for construction machinery will be trained in three days

As a construction machinery instructor, you are qualified to train and further educate operators of construction machinery both within your own company and externally, as well as to administer the corresponding examinations. You will also be responsible for conducting the annual safety training for construction machinery. You will acquire the necessary qualifications at the LTS Academy in a three-day course based on DGUV Principle 301-005.

Construction machinery, also known as construction equipment, refers to stationary, semi-mobile, or fully mobile machines used for processing building materials and transporting construction supplies, e.g.:

  • Earthmoving equipment

  • Suction dredger

  • Drilling and diaphragm wall equipment

  • Machines for transporting and processing concrete and mortar

  • Piling and pulling equipment

  • Equipment used in road construction

  • Sewer and pipeline construction equipment.

These versatile, motorized machines are used in both the main and ancillary construction trades, for example in mining, agriculture, landfill operations, and many other industrial sectors. The employer must always ensure that they are operated exclusively by suitable, trained, and adult personnel with proof of competence.

Who is eligible to become an instructor for construction machinery in the LTS training course?​​

To complete the course at our academy and become a construction machinery instructor, you must be at least 18 years old, possess extensive knowledge in this field, and be familiar with the operating manuals of the construction machinery used. Furthermore, you need at least two years of practical experience as a construction machinery operator – since January 2022, prior completion of operator training for construction machinery is also required.

In our recognized three-day training program, we rely on a proven combination of theory and practice to enable you, as an instructor for construction machinery, to professionally qualify new operators in accordance with DGUV Principle 301-005.

The course consists of a self-learning phase, a live online seminar, and a face-to-face practical training day including hands-on instruction, teaching demonstration, and examination.
The practical day can take place either at our training facilities near Dortmund or in-house at your location.

Content:

  • Independent and legally compliant implementation of theoretical and practical training in accordance with DGUV regulations

  • Methodology and didactics: clear, structured, and practice-oriented delivery of learning content, including assessment and documentation of learning outcomes

  • Development of training plans and execution of the practical examination

To ensure an intensive and individual learning experience, each course is limited to a maximum of four participants.

Examination: 

Participants must demonstrate their knowledge in written, practical, and oral form.

The oral examination includes a teaching demonstration, which must be prepared by the participant during the course.

 

Participation Requirements: ​

  • Proven theoretical and practical knowledge in the relevant construction machinery

  • Successful qualification as a construction machinery operator

  • At least two years of experience as a construction machinery operator

  • Alternatively: proof of instructor aptitude certification or comparable qualification

  • Minimum language level: C1

Day 2 : Theoretical instructon (Live-Online Seminar; 8:30 - ca. 15 Uhr) 

Day 3 : Practical instruction, teaching demonstration,  theoretical and practical examination ​
