The term "loading ramps" encompasses both power-operated and manually operated loading bridges and mobile ramps for loading and unloading vehicles. Loading bridges, as defined by DGUV Regulation 108-006, also include loading platforms and loading rails. Loading bridges are also referred to as dock levelers, movable loading ramps, adapter ramps, or loading plates. In contrast, tail lifts (truck tail lifts) are classified as lifting platforms, which must be inspected according to DGUV Principle 308-002.
