Competent person for testing electrical equipment
in accordance with DGUV Regulation 3 and the Industrial Safety Ordinance (BetrSichV)

Whether it's a drill, handsaw, extension cord, or charger: hardly any company can operate without electrical equipment these days. Since this equipment is subjected to many stresses in daily operations, such as frequent plugging and unplugging, and thus poses a potentially life-threatening risk, regular safety inspections are essential to identify any defects early on. As an employer, you can either commission an external expert or have the inspection of electrical equipment carried out by qualified personnel from your own company, thereby saving time and money.
Furthermore, you will benefit from additional advantages:
professional test documentation
Legal certainty vis-à-vis employers' liability insurance associations and insurers
Compliance with your entrepreneurial obligations
Traceability in claims management.
This is exactly what you want for your business, but you don't currently have a qualified person among your employees specifically for testing electrical equipment and systems? With the LTS Academy, that's no problem at all! In this seminar, we train your employees, or even you yourself, to become qualified experts in the electrical field. Register online today for the next available date! If you have any questions about the training beforehand, we're happy to provide you with a personal consultation. You can reach us by phone at +49 2303 986200 or via our contact form . Please don't hesitate to contact us; we look forward to your inquiry!

Why is the testing of electrical equipment necessary?
To ensure that employees can work in a safe environment, management and the board of directors are obligated under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (ArbSchG) and the Industrial Safety Ordinance (BetrSichV) to provide safe work equipment and operating resources. Since electrical equipment – especially if it has defects or malfunctions – can pose a significant risk to life and limb, it is particularly important and legally required that it be inspected at regular intervals (at least once a year) to ensure it is in proper working order and functioning correctly. In-depth expertise is essential for the legally compliant execution of the accident prevention regulations (UVV) inspection, which is why only qualified persons are authorized to inspect electrical equipment. According to Section 2, Paragraph 6 of the BetrSichV, qualified persons are those who, based on their completed vocational training (for this course, in the field of electrical engineering!), professional experience, and recent professional activity, possess the necessary knowledge to inspect work equipment.
Requirements:
Completed electrical engineering
Vocational training (electrical specialist) .
"The professional qualification as an electrical specialist is generally demonstrated by the successful completion of an apprenticeship, e.g. as an electrical engineer, electrical technician, master electrician, journeyman electrician." (DGUV V 3)
