How does the blended learning concept work at the LTS Academy?

We embrace modern learning and have been using a combination of e-learning and face-to-face instruction (blended learning) for years. By e-learning, we don't simply mean clicking through boring, text-heavy slides, but have developed an interactive, methodically and didactically sound teaching approach.

What exactly does that mean?
In preparation for the training day, our participants complete e-learning modules in advance, covering both the general basics of UVV (accident prevention regulations) inspector work and each booked module. This allows participants to familiarize themselves with the subject matter at their own pace and ensures optimal preparation for the training day.
On the day of the course itself (online or in person), the fundamentals will be reviewed and reinforced, and questions can of course be asked. The second part then builds on the e-learning and focuses on the specific work materials (modules) to be tested.

How much does the UVV inspector training cost?

Live online seminars: Module 1: €699, Modules 2 and 3: €499 each plus VAT.

How does the UVV training course work at the LTS Academy?

E-learning + live online or in-person seminar

Our UVV (accident prevention regulations) inspector training courses can be completed online (via Zoom) or in person. Part 1 of the course covers the general legal principles. Part 2 focuses on the specific equipment to be inspected (modules). Thanks to our preparatory e-learning module, up to three modules can be completed per day of the course. You can select the modules on the registration form.

Advanced training course

Should you require more than three modules or wish to inspect additional equipment after your initial course, you can book these as extension courses. This means you don't have to complete an entire course again. The extension courses build upon our regular UVV inspector courses and are therefore significantly shorter. Here, too, we utilize our blended learning concept (e-learning + live online seminar) for maximum flexibility and optimal learning success.

Question 4

What are the requirements to become a qualified person for the UVV inspection?

Accepted Answer

According to TRBS 1203, participants must have completed technical training or a comparable course of study, have professional experience with the relevant equipment and are currently working in this field.
For electrical equipment (DGUV V 3) or vehicles (DGUV V 70), electrical engineering or automotive engineering training is required.
Furthermore, a language level of at least B2 is recommended.

What legal framework governs the training to become a qualified person?

Accepted Answer

The basis is the Industrial Safety Ordinance (§ 14 BetrSichV) in conjunction with TRBS 1203 .
Employers are obligated to have work equipment regularly inspected by qualified persons. These persons must be professionally qualified, experienced, and undergo ongoing training.
Our training provides precisely these skills – practical and legally compliant.

Question 6

As a qualified person, am I also allowed to inspect other people's work equipment as an external safety inspector?

Accepted Answer

Yes. After successful completion, you are permitted to inspect both your own equipment at your company and third-party equipment on behalf of customers – provided you possess the necessary expertise for the respective equipment (see prerequisites).

Question 7

How do the advanced training courses for UVV inspectors work?

Accepted Answer

If you have already completed a UVV inspector training course, you can take further modules at any time.
The advanced training courses again consist of e-learning plus a short live online seminar (1-2 hours) and build on your existing knowledge. This allows you to expand your skills flexibly – without having to complete a whole new course again.

Can I complete the UVV training entirely online?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Both the e-learning and the training day can take place online.
This saves you travel time and allows you to participate in the training regardless of location.

Question 9

How long is the qualification as a competent person valid?

Accepted Answer

The qualification as a competent person is generally valid indefinitely . However, TRBS 1203 in conjunction with the Industrial Safety Ordinance (§ 2 para. 7 BetrSichV) requires that competent persons apply their expertise promptly and update it regularly .

To ensure you stay up-to-date, we recommend a refresher course every three years . This course covers legal changes, new regulations, and practical examples – in accordance with the requirements of TRBS 1203.

This makes inspections more practical, transparent, and efficient , and any deficiencies can be identified and rectified early on. In short: you know exactly who is conducting the inspection – and how it is being conducted .
This ensures that your work equipment always complies with the requirements of the DGUV and the Industrial Safety Ordinance – legally compliant, economical and controllable within the company.

How often must work equipment be inspected according to accident prevention regulations?

Accepted Answer

Work equipment must be inspected at least once a year .
The exact inspection intervals are determined by the risk assessment and the frequency of use. More frequent inspections may be necessary for safety-relevant equipment or equipment subject to heavy use.
